I had used Flickr a little bit in the past, but I hadn't blogged photos before. The collection at my library has grown considerable over the last year, and I wanted to document the progress. I created a Flickr slideshow, and I e-mailed the link to the faculty on my campus and to the librarians within our system. I paired the link with a copy of the form faculty members can use to request resources.
As a member of a team with 13 librarians spread throughout 5 different states, Flickr has been a nice way for us to share photos of our campuses, libraries, displays, and activities.
I'm hestitant to share many photos on Flickr because of privacy and copyright. I guess I could keep the photos as private, but then I may as well just keep them on my home computer or on a CD. Also, if I were to post pictures of students, could there be problems because they hadn't signed release forms to allow their images to be used online?
I was pleased that when I blogged about two of my Flickr photos, they uploaded with credits to the Flickr user.
