National Poetry Month

As part of National Poetry Month, my campus library is sponsoring a poetry contest. To get the ball rolling, I introduced the contest with a poem.

National Poetry Month

To celebrate poems
And display them for show
Use your talent and skills
To show what you know.

Create a sonnet,
A poem, or a rhyme.
It can be ordinary,
Wonderful, or sublime.

Type it out neatly
Prepared for display.
Include your name
And you’re on your way.

Give it to Chandra
And she’ll do her part
By displaying your poem,
Your work of the heart.
